Watermelon Tourmaline Swirl Socks

Want to know a almost-guaranteed way to make/provide your neighbors with proof you are the crazy knitting lady with a few cats*? Follow my six easy steps and you too could also be known as the crazy knitting lady with a few cats in your neighborhood!
Step one: Finish second Watermelon Tourmaline Sock late Sunday afternoon. Put both socks on, fold up pant legs to show off wonders of said socks.
Step two: Drag tripod outside with digital camera. Attempt to take pictures of self in socks while in full view of the
neighbors and passerby's on the street.

Step three: Cats come over to figure out what they're crazy knitting momma is doing now.

Step four: Attempt to take detail shot of heel, while leaning up against tree, fall down on arse while taking a picture. (Click for picture.) Brush leaves off bum and take picture of toe. Love the toe.

Step five: decide to move bench to get a shot of heels and said socks. Hate the heel.

Step six: batteries die on camera. Notice gray truck that has gone by 3(?) times, decide its time to go in the house before the neighbors think I have a online BF that likes feet (ew) Go back in house enjoy socks.
Enjoy new status as Crazy knitting lady with a few cats. Leave bench in yard, cause its heavy and you are lazy.
*Can't go for the crazy knitting cat lady, as the woman down the street has won the crazy cat lady title. *pout* Yeah, go ahead ask me how she earned that title. I double dog dare you! ; )

Pattern: Lichen Ribbed socks from Knitting Vintage socks by Nancy Bush

Yarn: Socks that Rock medium weight Watermelon Tourmaline

Needles: size 2 Inox

Time: one week

My thoughts: I chose this pattern because I wanted to try the welsh heel and the star toe of three points. I love the toe, my tootsies have plenty of room to move around! The heel? Well, the heel I don't like so much. See its poofy, doesn't fit my heel

The yarn became softer, like you can belive that, after the socks ceremonial trip though the washer and dyer!

Nice socks! Spring colors. :) So why is the title crazy cat lady taken...? ;)

Lovely colours! The gray truck was driving around a few times probably just to have another look of your beautiful socks. :)

Loving those socks. Don't feel bad, us crazy knitters have a great support group.

Thanks for the link for the blanket.

The socks look lovely! The "possible neighborhood gossip fodder" was not in vain - showing them off outside was well worth it! :)

Oh, and about the neighbors: I keep thinking that the hundreds of people with a good view of my ground level living room in this very well-populated part of the city are really wondering what I'm doing holding a semi-finished sock or a ball of yarn out of the window taking photos...
Ah, it's nice being the token freak on the block;-)
knit-blogging on the edge, YEAH! LOL

too funny! yep - draggin our knitting out front so all the neighbors think we're freaks - what's the problem with that?

I LOVE LOVE those socks!!! Between the pattern and the yarn, they are just BEAUTIFUL socks. I might have to find me some of that STR colorway!
