Too many choices, HELP!
I'm a joiner, what can I say? I love lace. Everything about it. 
I will be knitting the Charlottes Web Shawl that I picked up at MS&W. The only little problem, is that I can not decide the color order. Pleaseeeee help!! Please. Now that I should super pathetic, I'll show you the pics.
1.) the way it came, right outta the bag:
2.) With a lighter blue
3.) With out the pastel
4.) With out the red
5.) Just wind it up and pick as I go
I'm leaning towards #4 and 5. Too many combinations, too many choices! Goodness.
If you would, vote on which colorway you like and help a girl out. I'll keep the poll up till Friday! Thanks!
*edited to add blog poll is being an ass. And I can't get it to work right now. So, just leave a comment if you could on what color-way ya like. Beautiful colours! Indeed it's a difficult decision to make. Do you need five, or would four be enough? I prefer the first four skeins together in photo #1, without the fifth.

I like #4 the best but really I don't think you could go wrong with any of the combos. I wouldn't pick as you go as you will second guess yourself all the time or at least I would.

I vote five. Remember, the colors do not come out balanced. The first is least and the last (bottom of shall) is most dominant. Be sure you're ending with a favorite.

I pick the combination in the 4th photo because the colors in each skein seem to have at least "one thing" in common and therefore might create a nice unity. Or not?!? Who knows??-- :)
Given I've never made a shawl, perhaps I'm not the right one to comment!!
And as for your mother "coming out of your mouth," I agree: the same thing has begun to happen to me way more often than I'd like-- Yikes!

Do you have a link to the Charlotte's Web Shawl? I don't know what the garment-to-be looks like but I like combo #3 :-)
