Saturday sky, tea stash, and what??
Saturday Sky
finally, some blue sky and sunshine today! The kids really enjoying playing outside this afternoon while I knitted the sleeve of my sweater. We both enjoyed the sun which we haven't seen in weeks.
I'm participating in the Knitter's tea swap 2 and have flashed my tea stash

I would like to make 2 felted rugs. But have no idea if I should sew the squares together before I felt them or after I felt them?? If anyone has any input ppplllleeeassseee let me know!! I would love to mail my Aunt one of the finished rugs.

I really think it depends on the look you want. If you want a "seamless" rug, sew them together before you felt them. However, if you'd like to do a little bit of a seamed border, sewing them together after felting would be cute, too. I know, not much help, but I really do think it is up to you.

I agree with Amy, although I'd like to add that seaming before felting will probably be stronger, as your seam ends will be felted into one big piece. If you want that "patched" look, you could always seam, felt, and then add decorative stitches to look like seams.
Just a thought!

i also wonder how difficult it would be to put the squares together after they are felted, with them being all thick!
i think put them together first, because at least now they are easier to manipulate ... just incase your squares felt into rhomboids ;)
and by the way, yes, my needles are sizzling!

I'd definitely seam them before felting if you value your fingers at all :) It'd be much more difficult to seam through the felted fabric.
I just happened upon your blog - gotta say, I really enjoy it.

I love your teapots, I am thinking of getting one soon (after we move!) I use a teaball but that's a pain if you have a visitor. I really like the little teacup on the right.
I would sew together before felting - I think it would look neater.
P.S. fingernails still purple ;-)
