so many thank you's!
So many thank you's I have to say!! My email box has exploded with well wishes and congrats, thank you to everyone for helping us welcome our new little sweet pea to the world! A few presents for Kailey have arrived in my mailbox as well that I have to share:
My friend and neighbor Amanda knit Kailey so many amazing pieces!
Thank you Amanda, for so many lovely gifts! (She has better pictures of the knitting itself on her blog, pop on over to see it) She knit a lovely baby blanket, a tiny pair of baby socks (for a while there I was blaming her for Kailey being late! Because she hadn't finished the socks! *L*) and the sweetest little hat, check out this hat!!
Kailey looks like a little flower when she wears it. When Mom and I went to Rhinebeck I picked up some fiber for Amanda (who feeds my cats when I go on trips). She spun up some of it and knit up this hat with it! Its so soft and she did an amazing job, thank you!!! I can't tell you how grateful I am to have met you 3 (?) year ago at the bus stop, I don't think I would enjoy living here as much if it wasn't for knowing ewe! *L*
Valerie of knitting in pink (go see the hat she just finished, amazing!) sent *the* cutest bib and burp cloth set from bamboo baby's etsy site for Kailey! Check out the fabric! I love it!!
Both the bib and burp cloth have come in handy already! I'm so happy that we where able to met at Rhinebeck and now I'm able to put a face with your name! Thank you so much for sending such a cool gift for baby girl!! : )
Cayli of Spin a yarn for Ewe (check out the yarn she spins!) sent Kailey the sweetest little hat and sweater!
She used the cutest little sunshine buttons on the sweater, that add the perfect touch! The hat is so soft and squishy, Kailey wore it to her first Dr's appointment today and it did a great job keeping her little head warm! Thank you so much Cayli! I'm so glad to have "met" you this past year! One more picture, cause its just too cute not to share!
Mom knit Kailey an adorable little sweater! I blamed her for a few days for Kailey being late, she had to block the sweater and add buttons to it. But I believe now that Kailey was just waiting for her Mema to deliver this sweater to her personally. I love this little sweater and the buttons that my Dad picked out for it, I think Kailey likes it too!
Thank you Mom!! Your sweater has kept Kailey good and toasty this past week while the weather here in Western PA has finally started to act like its January! We have snow! Not a whole lot (thank goodness) but we have snow!
A big thank you to Amanda, Valerie, Cayli and my Mom for sending such lovely gifts to little Kailey! She must now how much she is loved, not only by her family but by an extended network of friends. She is thriving and healthily! Today at her first Dr's appointment, the Dr proclaimed that she is a keeper and was happy that she had regained her birth weight plus 3 oz! (He said not to many babies do that in the first week, not even bottle feed! Yay!) Knitters are really the best kind of people! Thank you everyone, Thank you!!!

Its almost time!
Its 430 here in Western PA and I still haven't gone into labor. Its been one busy day! Corra has a sinus infection (fun!) Mom got here around 2. We are hopefully all set to go! I wanted to leave you all with a few last belly shots, as there aren't going to be any more
Since little girl has dropped I don't "feel" like I'm 40 weeks pregnant, I feel smaller, and I think my belly looks smaller!
Corra asked me this week, "mommy, where is your belly button?" All I could do was laugh! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go get something to eat and go have a baby!!
PS, Enjoy Mike's guest blogging next week! I will be away from my computer for a few days, (right, i know!) and won't be answering emails. Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers well wishes and support!! You rock ; )

is it something I did?
Baby girl was due yesterday. Yes.ter.day. Fate didn't smack me down, just laughed at me while I was running errands. Cause She didn't come today either. I must tell you though, its a lot of fun to tell people when they ask when I'm due "yesterday" while out and about today... hehehe like labor is going to happen immediately and the baby is going to come out in 15 seconds. riiiiiight.
Today I had my Dr's appointment, he was surprised that I hadn't gone into labor yet. I'm not. Heck, none of my kids where on time. Well... I'm 3-4 centimeter's dilated, and baby girl is a (monstrous) 7lbs 12oz according to the measurements Dr took during my ultrasound. That is 4oz away from 8lbs. 4oz... 4.freaking.oz away from 8lbs people!!! Almost 8lbs!!! AcKKKK!
I'm still wondering, why the heck hasn't labor happened yet! Is it because I've finally got my knitting mojo back and I can't help but cast on more baby knits? Check out these cute little booties that I finished today
Mary sent me a link to the pattern a month or so ago, thanks Mary! They are super cute, Corra wants to swipe them for her own baby doll.
Here's the stats:
Pattern: Christine's baby booties
yarn: beehive baby yarn color 3427 (soft pink)
needles: knitpicks size 1 dpns
notes: I took my time knitting these. The first one took one evening, the second one took me 4 days... I finished the second one a few minutes ago. Think the baby will come tonight?
Mike is on his way home from Pittsburgh tonight, Mom is in Scranton for the night and will be here sometime tomorrow. If I don't go into labor tonight. I'm to go to the hospital tomorrow to have my water broken which will hopefully start labor! Hurry up baby, the Sheriff has announced an eviction order. OUT! Already, OUT!! But just to insure matters, I'm going to go bake a pan of brownies for me ; )

sometimes, I think I can sew...
sometimes... I get this thought in my head that I can sew. Ok, I can sew. But I don't sew well. Even though Bryce who was watching me sew yesterday afternoon told me "Mommy, I don't know why you say you can't sew. Cause you do a good job!" Isn't he the cutest? Honestly, I'm never really happy with how my sewing projects look after I'm finished, or how they look after a few uses. But I always find myself buying more patterns, fabric and sitting in front of my sewing machine.
I think it has to do with the memories I have of sewing as a child. When I around 8 I would spend Saturdays at my Auntie Adair's house while my mom was at work, or my parents just wanted me outta their hair ; ) It was my Aunt that helped foster my creativity, she encouraged me to try new things and taught me things that her mother and her mother in law taught her. She always had fun things planned for us to do, and I can still remember kicking her butt playing Sorry!
When ever I iron fabric, the smell reminds me of Saturdays at her house. Using the sprinkle water bottle that was her MIL's and the hot iron sizzling away the moisture. Then the smell of her old singer as I would sew my Samantha doll a new dress. This weekend, after a trip to Jo-ann's last week I broke out my Lady Kenmore and tried to convince myself that yes. I can sew. At Jo-ann's I bought a nursing pillow and whipped up a cover for it using snuggly flannel
I finished up my Big Bad Baby Blanket Friday morning, after putting it and the flannel I bought for the backing through the washer and dryer I added the backing. Ha. Yeah. I can sew my ass. Piping, don't speak to me about piping. Apparently when my Aunt taught me her trick to adding piping it didn't stick in my head. I tried 3 times! THREE times, before I ripped it off for good and said screw it damnit.
I have to say though, the BBBB turned out great, the cotton tots fluffed up and softened like you wouldn't believe in the wash. I can't wait to wrap New Baby girl in it.
Stats:
Pattern: Big Bad Baby Blanket from Stitch and Bitch
yarn: 4 balls of Cotton tots in very berry.. I think... I started a different blanket with this yarn. Frogged it, and it marinated in the stash for a bit with out labels. So I'm not 100% sure how much I used.
needles: US 8 addi turbo
gauge: 4 sts/in before and after machine washing and drying
size: 27"W x 32"L
notes: I only knit 15 rows of seed stitch, I couldn't take it anymore and just wanted to start on the pattern! I also used 1 yard of flannel to back the blanket, I hope this will help the blanket keep its shape. Since its soon to be loved and washed many, many times! I was going to add piping to the edges, lets just say that didn't work out.
Also I sewed a receiving blanket out of some cute lamb flannel that I couldn't pass up, thanks to Wool Winder's post that inspired me to do this. I had a little bit of flannel left over from the nursing pillow cover, the blankets, and had some boyish flannel in the stash. Now everyone has a little blankie
Ok. So sometimes when I think I can sew, I can.
Prego update: still.no.baby. Today is my due date and I'm off to tempt fate to embarrass the daylights outta me. Because I have errands that have to be ran, and can not wait. Last night I think I slept 2 hours, thanks to some fluid behind my left eardrum that is causing this obnoxious freaking humming noise. My Dr told me to take sudafed for it, that damn never kept me up before. But hell I'm still freaking wired! I think the baby has dropped, but I'm not completely sure since my back and hips don't hurt yet. Grrr... I'm sure I'm super pleasant to be around with all this whining! Seriously though, will someone tell the crazy person in my head to stop humming? Or at least hum a tune? urgh!

Happy Anniversary Hunny
How can I stay in love
with you forever?
How can we make our relationship into
a lifetime of sharing and joy?
In order to stay in love forever
I must first find the right person to love
and I have, in you
In order to stay in love forever
we both must understand each other
and ourselves
and we must be completely honest
with each other at all times
We both must have our own goals and interests
and actively pursue them
We both must have complete freedom of thought
and we must encourage each other
to follow our dreams
We must always be fair, kind and supportive
of each other
We must dedicate ourselves to being
equal partners in all that we feel
and in all that we do
We must promise each other that
we will always create time
to just appreciate each other and our love
and that we will never be lazy
and take our love for granted
In order for me to stay in love
with you forever
and have a relationship that is
a lifetime of sharing and loving
I must really pledge myself
to this wonderful commitment
and I must really want to stay in love
with you forever
and I do
-Poem by Susan Polis Schutz
Happy Anniversary Hunny, I can't tell you how happy I am that we found each other. I've enjoyed our years together, and am looking forward to the future. *smooches* wubber you

Nothing
Still no baby! I wanted to let ya'll know that I am much better today. Last night I got a sudden migraine that was different than the usual ones that I have. Played it safe, called the maternity ward and had my SIL drive me in. My right field of vision became super blurry suddenly. My migraines usually come on very slowly, sometimes I just get a visual migraine, sometimes I get both the migraine pain with a visual migraine. This was was different,. Luckly it went away once I took my migraine meds. (thank goodness!) Baby and I are doing good today, Mike is home for at least the weekend. Man, he made record time driving up from Pittsburgh last night. His boss is digging up work for him to complete from home.
Thank you everyone for sharing your support and your personal stories with me. I can't tell ya'll enough how much it means to me to have your support and to read your own stories so I don't feel so alone. Thank you.
I finished knitting the baby blanket yesterday morning, i have to attach the backing and the piping. I also did a bit of sewing. More on that later today.
Here is my Saturday Sky, because *ahem* I'm supposed to be participating in that!

PS Dad, I thought it was Corra's pony in the box.

What I did today... a rant
What did I do today? Really nothing exciting. I sat on my arse and did just about nothing. Ok. I did a load of laundry but that was because I wanted my sweat pants clean! I swept the kitchen floor and the hallway before my upper abdomen started to really hurt and I thought it would be best to sit down and call the Dr. Don't worry I knit while I waited for my call back.
When I didn't hear back from them almost 2 hours later, I called them back. The secretary said that she gave the note to the nurse, and she doesn't know what the nurse did with it. Reassuring, no? I did get a call back 30 minutes later. The nurse and I had a grand conversation. Especially since when I don't get the answer I want, I tend to get a *wee* bit difficult. The Dr. felt that it was just muscular might have something to do with how the baby is laying. The nurse said to "take A Tylenol."
I asked, "how many is A Tylenol?"
she says "I know there are so many pain relievers out there, hahahaha."
I said "Yeah there is. But I asked how many is A Tylenol? to me A Tylenol is ONE. How many Tylenol should I take?"
She said "oh... whatever the bottle says for an adult dose." why didn't she say that in the first place? really, in a math word problem A means freaking one!
I asked her if I should be concerned if Tylenol didn't take it away, she said (I love this) "If its still bothering you by Monday, give us a call."
I respond with "I sure hope it goes away by Monday, that's FOUR days away!!"
this is where I wish she could have seen my face. Because she says "oh that's right its Thursday, I keep thinking its Friday. hahahhahahaahahaa! If its still bothering you tomorrow give us a call we'll be here till 12."
yeah wouldn't want to bother ya'll on a weekend. God freaking Forbid you do your damned job that you are getting paid outrageously for. Yeah I so feel blown off right now.
btw. I hate sit n' spins sooo much right now.

wee little pink sweater
Looky what Corra found wedged in the mailbox
Its from Suzanne! She told me that she had knit something up for new little girl, also I won a contest she was having on her blog (yay me!)
Looky at the lovely wrapping! Suzanne, I don't even know how to say thank you!! I can't even begin tell you how much this means to me and Mike. I have to say he is speechless! (this never happens!)
You did such a good job on this sweater, I love the little bows! I can't wait to try it on her! It smells lovely, and is such a sweet little pink sweater! Thank you, thank you! Thank you for the yummy brown yarn too! Your right, its perfect "man colors". Too bad Mike insists that he doesn't want hand knit socks. Which is ok by me! He has B.I.G. feet!! Size 12!! But I think my Dad will like the color! Its so soft, thank you again! You are such a talented generous knitter!
-----------------------------
Today I had yet another Dr's appointment as the due day draws near (5 days!!). Because of my blood thing (essential thrombocytosis. Basically I have too many platelets in my blood and no one knows why my body makes so many) I see a high risk OB, one that specializes in maternal fetal medicine. My platelets (when I'm not prego) are usually around 800,000. A normal persons runs 200,000-400,000. When I'm prego they go down to normal range 400,000ish. My theory is my body is making more plasma and the platelets are watered down. Well.. little girl didn't feel like waking up for her ultrasound which I get at every visit to make sure everything is ok. They tried waking her up to get her heart rate up and to check her practice breathing. Well. she just didn't feel like it. So I won a trip to the maternity ward for a stress test. Yay.me. After an hour of being hooked up to a fetal monitor and having my blood pressure checked twice baby and I where declared "OK" and allowed to leave. Now, check out my belly. Isn't this weird? First image was taken of my right side and the second of my left side.
from the right and from the left
weird no? Tomorrow, I'll tell ya'll about my adventure to Jo-ann's....
P.S. Suzanne. You rock! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

shopping
This weekend while Corra and Bryce where at their Dad's and I pawned off Allysa had a sleep over with her cousin I drove down to Pittsburgh to spend some time with Mike. Yes, I wanted to go shopping but I mostly wanted us to spend time with him because hell. We aren't going to get to spend time together for quite some time once little girl is born!
I really enjoyed myself. Mike cooked me dinner, and breakfast (he did the dishes too!!), and I learned next time I visit him while he is on the road I must bring my coffee maker! I was on a mission this weekend to find a new stroller and hopefully a new car seat. Especially after reading this report. Can you guess which color car seat and stroller we bought?
Ha! Like you had to guess, right? Pink, pink, pink! Yes, we now have upped the chance that the ultrasounds where wrong and baby girl will end up being a boy. At least that's how I convinced Mike this was *the* stroller. I'm loven this pink. I think Mike was really enjoying Toys R Us, and maybe even liked Baby's R Us a bit too. Its a lot easier for me to get the kids outta Toy's R Us than it was for me to get Mike outta there!!
Saturday night, while Mike was cooking dinner I casted on for the Big Bad Baby Blanket from the first Stitch and Bitch. I'm using Bernat cotton tots in very berry that I bought for $2 on clearance at Wally World a loooong time ago. I went down a needle size to 8. I've already knit 9"! I hope to have this blanket done before baby girl makes her entrance. I some how doubt that she will be born before her due date (the 16), I have an inkling that she will be late just like her brother and sister. Ok.. her Mom and Dad too! Don't worry, I won't leave ya'll in the dark. I'll ask Mom to post when I go in to the hospital, ya'll want Mike to guest post while I'm gone right? (he doesn't get this blogging thing, and needs some encouragement!)
I better get going on this baby blanket if I'm going to get it done, maybe this is her special knit?

First finished knit 2007, am i ready?
With my due date being 10 days away I'm wondering about the superstition some knitter's believe. You know the one, the baby won't come until their special knit is finished. I'm not a very superstitious person. But sometimes its fun just to believe. Last Wednesday I casted on for a ballet sweater from Sirdar Early Arrivals No. 2 and finished the knitting Thursday night after a some problems I had with the sleeve decreases. (I'm still not sure if I did them right or not!) With my belly looking like this
I swear I didn't swallow a basket ball,
and its *very* hard to take a decent picture of ones belly!
I'm wondering if I want to believe in that superstition. I debated about just seaming up part of the sweater, leaving an inch to be finished. Or maybe not sewing on the ribbon tie or the snap.

Why? Because I'm not ready! Even though this will be my fourth child, I still worry about labor. Will everything go ok? Will I know I'm in labor? What if I go early? What if I end up needing a c-section? What if, what if, what if?? Enough what if's to make Mike's head explode. Trust me, this was a fun midnight conversation filled with tears as my hormones drove me on a roller coaster of my lovely freak out. I know everything will work out ok, but there is always that little "what if" in the back of my mind.
In the end I threw caution to the wind, and snickered a bit at fate while I sewed the whole sweater up, added the ribbon and sewed in the snap. My bag is packed, my belly button has disappeared, and I'm almost ready to have this baby.
First Finished Knit of 2007!
Stat's
Pattern: Sirdar Early Arrivals No. 2 Design B Ballerina cardigan
yarn: Beehive baby yarn acrylic color 3427
needles: US 2 & 3 Susan Bate's circs
gauge: uhh.. gotta check that....
size: 0-3 months, to fit a size 16" chest.
notes: I had a *bit* of a problem reading the pattern, this might have something to do with my inability to concentrate lately. I'm not sure if I knit the right front and the sleeves correctly. The right front looks a bit wonky to me. With that said, this is a sweet little sweater.
I'm off to Pittsburgh today to see Mike, hopefully spend some couple time together. Their may or may not be shopping involved. ; )
I hope finishing this sweater isn't going to bite me in the ass...
