SHEEP AND WOOL!! SHEEP AND WOOL!!!
Maryland Sheep and Wool was a total BLAST!! (even though most of the time I was really stuffy and kinda dozing with my eyes open in a state of awe. I'm not sure if this was the wool fumes or all that damned pollen.) Mom and I are most defiantly going next year. (Just choosing a different hotel!!) I was fully expecting the festival to be like Walmart 5am Black Friday, it was busy but not that bad. I'm glad I didn't bring the kids, my head would have exploded!! Saturday morning we headed over to the fairgrounds from Fredrick, after fighting off a bus that really thought he was special and didn't have to wait in line (gr) like everyone else (double gr) we parked and made a bee-line for The Fold's booth. Lookie I scored these babies before they where all sold out!
Left to Right Boysenberry, Tigers eye, Scaponia, and two Lorna's laces Carol Green from the stall across the way
Mom and I went and visited Autumn House Farms a scooped up two more hanks of Sumptuous. Which they now call Del Rio in Fox Grape.
mmmm.. so soft
We wondered around for a little bit, Mom bought us both a darning egg. I've been (sorta) looking for one for awhile now. This summer I'm going to look around at local auctions, thrift shops and such for some antique ones. I went into the next booth over, Susanne's knitting shoppe and bought a Koigu Charlotte's web shawl kit for $55.
oh yeah, I bought the two blue hanks at the end at the same place I bought the LL
Then we had lunch. I had a lamb-burger, I hate to say this.. but it was good!! After lunch we headed over to the stage area for the knit blogger met-up. Where we met fellow knit bloggers

We went outside, wondered around looking for Brooks Farm. I found Tintagel Farm, and sinfully bought (the middle and then the top hank) 50/50 Kid mohair and fine wool in color Bramble, and a hank of 100% Silk in colorway Waterfall ($15!!!) Could you have said no, I didn't think so!! At that point Mom was tired of listing to me sniffle and whine about my feet hurting, so we headed back to the hotel.
Sunday morning I was determined to find Brooks Farm. So we headed back to the festival. I was suckered in to one booth where they had a few hanks of this lovely outside, next thing I knew I was at the counter buying it!

Lady Eleanor Super Star
Super Star, Super Star!! Lady E totally makes me feel like a Super star! (super star, super star!)
I finished Lady E last night, furiously I might add. Thanks to my new purchase of a Scunci Steamer last night I didn't have to wait for her to dry. My buddy MandaJ told me she saw it in a local store, I was too happy!! It was like magic blocking, no pinning just a little pulling. Total WoW! (Can you tell I've had many cups of coffee today, and waaaayy too much antihistamines) Lynda I have to tell you, your finished Lady E totally inspired me to make this!
The Specs:
Pattern: Lady Eleanor from Scarf Style
Yarn: 3 hanks (220 yards ea) of Sumptuous from Autumn House Farms. 2 in color way Lilac Garden and 1 hank in I can’t remember, (its the color in the middle in the scarf. The other Lilac in my stash was a different dye lot and it was extremely obvious!! I'm still not sure if I like it) I wish I could lie really well, or at least feel good about the lie. I would love to say this yarn is discontinued and its no more, or that its really scratchy, doesn't wear well or something like that. Buts it the softest yarn ever, like butter, really well priced and the colors are beautiful!! If you want some, you better hurry up and call Harriet, cause I'm buying it.all!!
Needles: size 7 addi turbo
Time: One week I should have started this much, much sooner, because I missed Harriet this morning. So Lady E won't be in the Autumn House Farms booth this weekend, but my Branching out and Liesel scarf will be!!
My thoughs: I love my finished project!! I have no idea if I did it right! *L* I'm not sure if I just wasn't "getting" the directions, or they where not written very well. I have no idea if I did the little triangles on the sides right... same with the ones at the end.. just kinda winged it! I bet you all wondered how I did with the crochet, eh?
well....
I went over to my friend MandyJ and she did it!! Doesn't she look happy? Thanks Mandy! You saved my day : ) She helped me finish the fringe too! And take pictures of me acting like a goof ball in my backyard! and she did it!! Doesn't she look happy? Thanks Mandy! You saved my day : ) She helped me finish the fringe too! I need to pack for Maryland... what knitting should I take?? hmmm..*wave* Hi Melissa!! We where looking for you too, webs was mad crazy! Drop me a line at mistress_stash_enhancer (at) yahoo (dot) com Blogspirit doesn't share email addresses with me, even though they ask for it! Technology!!*hrmph*

Did I miss the party? I blame my computer
Did I miss the party?? I blame my computer!! I need a new power adapter port thingy. (I hope thats it) Right now I'm using Mike's computer. (Shhsh! He is sleeping, he knows nothing of this! shssh!) Hi People who came over from the Harlots blog! heheehe She mentioned me! heheee!! When I met her I was totally ahha... ahahaa... Hi! What was I going to say now? hehehe Its the Yarn Harlot! *gush* And totally forgot to tell her my blog name... yeah I am so together people!!! (I can't belive she mentioned me, she recognized me from my blog!! WOWsa!)
There is one other reason for my absence. You see my knitting mentor Harriet, who runs Autumn House Farms, asked me to knit her a little something for the upcoming (yeah I know its freaking Sat, when did that happen???) Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. I was apparently high on anithistamine when I said sure... and casted on for Lady Eleanor Wednesday night... uh huh...
here she is lounging in the violets Thursday afternoon. (I think) She has since grown, almost twice in size! I was going to take pictures of her yesterday, but Mike had the grand idea of inviting his family over for a cookout. *twitch* that ment I had to hid all the clutter in the washer/dryer/oven/shower/tub/messly little closets clean the house! Oh, I coulda killed him! Even though it was nice to visit with everyone. Yesterday after the party, he had enough gumption to pressure wash the entire stinking driveway, but the Christmas tree is still UP! *sigh* I was talking about knitting wasn't I? yes, yes I was..
bear finds Lady very soft and comfortable.
Best be off now, Bryce's preschool graduation is next week, the teachers surprise scrapbook needs to be finished, things need to be purchased for it, knitting must be finished, I need to learn how to freaking crochet so I can do the fringe on lady (URGH!), Post man needs to be stalked, ohhh goodness I need to down a few more cuppa's of coffee so I can figure out what I'm doing and what to pawn off on Mike! AcK!!!
